Our Assessment: The Ruger M77 Mark II Magnum was designed to go after the most dangerous largest game you could think of. Chambered in the .458 LOTT, A cartridge designed on a napkin in a diner by a man named Jack. Jack designed the .458 Lott after an encounter with a cape Buffalo that landed him needing serious medical attention. It was then, he realized the .458 Winchester magnum was not good enough to take down the big game animals he was after. This new Cartridge would be capable of sending a 500 grain bullet down range at 2300 fps and an astounding 5,870 ft/lbs of energy. But we’re not here to just talk about this amazing cartridge. The Ruger Magnum is a perfect platform to tame this thumper of a round. With quarter-rib reinforced magnum barrel made from high-strength alloy steel. And a stock with reinforced cross bolts. This Ruger platform is the option to go with. Whether you’re looking to take down big game animals or protect yourself from bears in Alaska this is the Gun for you ! Good Luck and happy Bidding
