Markings: The top of the barrel is marked with Ruger’s 2-line warning & Newport address. The left side of the barrel is marked “6.5x55mm”. The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number, and “RUGER M77 HAWKEYE”. The floorplate is marked “RUGER”, with the Ruger logo.
Barrel Length: 18 1/2″ Stainless.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass beaded blade, inserted & pinned to an integral barrel ring & ramp on the barrel. The rear sight is an adjustable flip-up U-notch sight, dovetailed to a ramp, screwed to the barrel. The top of the receiver is notched for Ruger rings.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece, checkered Mannlicher styled walnut stock, with a capped semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, red rubber Ruger buttpad, a checkered forend, and a sling ring up front, and a sling stud in the rear. The LOP measures 13 1/2″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows light handling wear, with only a few minor compressions scattered throughout. The stock’s finish is intact, and the checkering is well defined. The stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light handling wear, with only minor superficial imperfections throughout the metal surfaces, and light operational wear on the bolt. Otherwise, the stainless finish is intact throughout. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

The Hawkeye line builds on decades of M77 production, incorporating a controlled-round feed action, a three-position safety, and integral scope ring mounts cut directly into the receiver. The International configuration, with its full-length stock and compact 18 1/2 inch barrel, reflects a styling choice long associated with Alpine and continental hunting rifles.
Chambered in 6.5x55mm Swedish, this rifle is paired with one of the most respected European sporting cartridges ever developed. Introduced in the late 19th century for military use, the 6.5×55 gained a long-standing reputation for mild recoil, excellent sectional density, and efficient downrange performance. In a compact, stainless 18 1/2 inch configuration, the cartridge remains well suited for practical hunting distances while maintaining the balanced handling characteristics expected of a Mannlicher-style rifle.
This 2023 production example presents in fine overall condition, retaining nearly all of its original stainless finish with only light handling and operational wear visible. The bore remains bright with sharp rifling, and the walnut full-length stock is clean and tightly fitted with only minor cosmetic impressions. Overall, this Ruger M77 Hawkeye International stands as a contemporary sporting rifle that successfully marries classic styling with modern manufacturing and chambering.
