Markings: The trunnion is marked “H-7577-79”. The left side of the receiver is marked “PSL 54C / Cal. 7.62x54mm”. The scope is marked “LPS 4×6 TIP2 / Sr 06621-75’’. The left side recoil spring lug, rear of dust cover, bolt and bolt carrier is marked “L3121”. The right side of the receiver is marked “MADE BY CN ROMARM SA/CUGIR / IN ROMANIA / IMPORTED CAI GEORGIA.VT”.
Barrel Length: 26.5” with muzzle brake
Sights / Optics: The front sight is an adjustable post set between two protective ears and the rear sight is a “U” notched tangent leaf marked from “1 – 12” and “P”. The left side of the receiver has a scope rail with an attached LPS 4×6 TIP2 Scope. The sight picture is clear.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a three piece wood with a vented forend, semi pistol grip, raised comb, and grooved metal buttpad. There is light handling wear. There are light scratches and compression marks throughout. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures about 12.5” from the back of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock rates in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore. There is fouling in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 8 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light handling and storage wear. There is operational wear. There are light scratches throughout. There are scratches throughout the receiver and barrel. There is surface rust forming on the barrel. The screw heads are sharp. The pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good Plus Condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Romarm PSL-54C is one of the most recognizable designated marksman rifles imported into the United States and is often referred to as a Dragunov-style rifle due to its similar appearance. While it shares the profile of the Soviet SVD, the PSL is mechanically based on an enlarged AK-pattern action utilizing a long-stroke piston system. Chambered in 7.62×54mmR, the PSL was designed to provide extended-range capability while maintaining the rugged reliability for which Kalashnikov-derived firearms are known.
This example presents in Very Good Plus overall condition and includes several desirable military-pattern features. The wood furniture remains in fine condition with only minor handling marks and no structural issues. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, no visible erosion, and only light fouling present, earning a strong 8/10 rating. The rifle retains approximately 97% of its original finish with only light handling and operational wear noted. Particularly attractive is the included Romanian military-pattern optic package, with the rifle mounted with an LPS 4×6 TIP2 scope and additionally accompanied by a PO 4×24-01 optic. The matching numbered bolt, bolt carrier, dust cover, and recoil spring assembly add further collector appeal. Altogether, this PSL-54C represents an excellent example of Romania’s iconic designated marksman rifle and would make a strong addition to any military firearms collection.
