Our Assessment: The Remington Model Seven is a compact sporting rifle derived from the Model 700 family and designed to provide the handling advantages of a shorter, lighter hunting rifle. This Stainless Synthetic example is chambered in .308 Winchester with a 20″ barrel, pairing a versatile North American hunting cartridge with weather-resistant stainless construction and lightweight synthetic furniture. Its compact proportions make the Model Seven particularly well suited for hunting in timber, mountainous terrain, and other situations where a full-length sporting rifle can be cumbersome.
This rifle is in Fine to Excellent condition overall, retaining about 98% of its original stainless finish with only a couple of minor scratches on the barrel and bottom metal. The textured synthetic stock remains in Excellent condition with an intact finish, a tight fit to the barreled action, and no chips or cracks. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and minor fouling, rating 9.75/10, while the action and safety function correctly. The bolt jeweling remains vivid and bright. The included 3-9×50 scope has clear glass and rates in Fine to Excellent condition, and the rifle also includes a nylon sling and owner’s manual/paperwork.
