Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked with Remington’s address and “308 WIN 5R RIFLING”, along with the “EF” date code. The right side of the barrel is marked with a series of proof marks. The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number and “Remington / MODEL 700”.
Barrel Length: 20″ Heavy Contour, 5R Rifling, Threaded 5/8×24 w/Thread Protector.
Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The top of the receiver is drilled and tapped for optics.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece composite stock, with a pistol grip with palm-swells, fluted straight comb, black rubber Remington buttpad, a wide forend, two sling studs on the forend and one sling stud in the belly. The LOP measures 13 1/2″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows no notable wear. The stock’s finish is intact, and the stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. The barrel is free floating all the way to the action. Overall, the stock rates in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows minor storage wear, with only a couple minor superficial imperfections, and a couple minor hairline scratches on the barrel present. The stainless finish is intact. The jeweling on the bolt is vivid and bright. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine to Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. The trigger has a rather heavy pull, but the trigger is Remington’s X-Mark Pro trigger, and is externally adjustable. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Remington Model 700 has long served as one of America’s most established bolt-action platforms, and the 5R configurations were built with a greater emphasis on precision shooting. This 2011 stainless example is chambered in .308 Winchester and features a 20″ heavy-contour barrel with 5R rifling and a 5/8×24 threaded muzzle. The free-floated heavy barrel, broad composite stock, hinged floorplate, and optics-ready receiver give the rifle a compact precision-oriented configuration equally at home on the range or in the field.
This rifle is in Fine to Excellent condition overall, retaining about 99% of its original stainless finish with only minor storage marks and a couple of light hairline scratches on the barrel. The composite stock remains in Excellent condition with an intact finish, tight fit to the action, fully free-floated barrel, and no chips or cracks. The bore is bright with sharp 5R rifling and no erosion, rating 10/10, while the action and safety function correctly. The X-Mark Pro trigger has a rather heavy pull as presently adjusted and is externally adjustable. The bolt jeweling remains vivid and bright, and the rifle includes its serial-number-matching factory box.
