Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked “Remington / MODEL 700”, “RR87808K” with a QR Code. The left side of the barrel is marked “REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY ILION, NY 260 REM 5R 1:8” with an “LM” date code. The right side of the barrel has two proofs.
Barrel Length: 22″. Bull Barrel. Threaded with thread protector.
Sights / Optics: The top of the receiver is mounted with a one piece NightForce R700SA 0MOA picatinny rail. There are no provisions for iron sights.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a Manners Composite Stocks fiber glass chassis with textured oversized vertical pistol grip, adjustable cheek piece, adjustable LOP, rubber Pachmayr buttpad, two QD cups on the left side front and rear, and an Area 419 Arcalock mounted to the bottom of the forend. Has Magpul Bolt Action Magazine Well installed. The LOP measures approximately 10.5″ unextended and 14 1/8″ at full extension from the front of the trigger to the back of the black rubber buttpad. There is light handling wear. There are no chips or cracks. There is some composite filler in front of the Magpul Magwell to fill up the space between it and the stock. The stock rates in about Very Good overall condition.
Type of Finish: Black Cerakote
Finish Originality: Refinished.
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light operational and handling wear. The markings are clear. There are light scattered scratches on the cerakote that has not gone through the finish. The screwheads are strong and sharp to lightly tool marked with strong slots. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with a single Magpul PMAG 10 7.62 AC magazine in Very Good condition.
Our Assessment: The Remington Model 700 has long been one of the most proven American bolt action platforms, and its strength as a custom rifle foundation is well represented in this SPS Tactical build. Chambered in .260 Remington, this rifle sits in a sweet spot for precision-minded shooters, offering mild recoil, efficient ballistics, and excellent long-range potential. The addition of the Manners stock, Nightforce rail, Area 419 Arcalock rail, detachable magazine setup, threaded 5R bull barrel, and Cerakote finish gives this rifle a purpose-built feel without being overdone.
This example presents very well overall, with a bright 9/10 bore, strong remaining finish, and only light evidence of handling and use. The stock shows some minor wear and fitted filler work around the magazine well, but the rifle remains clean, functional, and well-equipped. For the buyer looking for a capable .260 Remington precision rifle with quality components already installed, this Model 700 offers a strong platform ready for glass, bipod, and range time.
