Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “WARNING-READ INSTRUCTION BOOK FOR SAFE OPERATION-FREE FROM” / “*****REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY, INC. ILION, N.Y. U.S.A.*****” / “.300 WEATHERBY MAG.” and proof marks. There are proof marks on the right side of the barrel. The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number and “Remington” / “MODEL 700”.

Sights / Optics: There are no sights. The top of the receiver has four drilled and tapped scope-mount holes with plug screws.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered walnut with a semi pistol grip, fluted comb, and a textured Remington rubber buttpad. There is a sling stud at each end of the stock. There are minor scratches on top of the buttstock. There is handling and storage wear throughout. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering remains sharp. The LOP measures 13 1/4″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the rubber buttpad. Overall, the stock rates in about Fine-Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its finish. There is handling wear and storage marks along the barrel. The barrel shows patina under bright light. There is dried storage oil along the metal surfaces. The screw heads are strong. The markings are clear and legible. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
