Our Assessment:  The Remington Model 700 Classic series was created to offer traditional sporting-rifle styling with special annual chamberings, giving collectors and hunters a chance to own less-common cartridges in a clean walnut-and-blue factory configuration. The Model 700 itself has been one of America’s most successful bolt action rifle platforms since the 1960s, known for its strong cylindrical receiver, smooth two-lug bolt, internal magazine, and broad reputation as a dependable hunting rifle. The .350 Remington Magnum is one of Remington’s more distinctive short magnum cartridges, originally introduced in the 1960s to deliver serious medium- to large-game performance from a relatively compact action. While never as common as standard long-action hunting cartridges, the .350 Rem Mag developed a following among hunters who wanted heavy bullet performance, strong woods-rifle authority, and something outside the ordinary. This 1985 Model 700 Classic combines that uncommon chambering with a 22” barrel, iron sights, checkered walnut stock, and factory box, making it a desirable Classic-series rifle for both collectors and hunters.

This Remington Model 700 Classic is a 1985-production bolt action rifle chambered in .350 Remington Magnum with a 22” barrel, original blued finish, factory iron sights, drilled and tapped receiver, checkered walnut stock, paperwork, and serial-matching factory box. The rifle retains about 98% of its finish with minor handling wear, light barrel patina, dried storage oil at the muzzle and front sight hood, and minor tooling on the screw heads. The stock rates in Excellent condition with little visible wear, no chips or cracks, and some wear on the top and bottom edges of the buttpad. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion, rating 9.5 out of 10 in this writer’s opinion, and the action functions correctly, though the rifle would benefit from cleaning due to hardened storage oil under the barrel and around the action. This rifle should appeal to Remington collectors, Model 700 Classic enthusiasts, and hunters looking for a clean boxed .350 Rem Mag with strong bore condition and classic factory sporting-rifle appeal.
