Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked “G6474712”, “Remington / MODEL 700”. The left side of the receiver is marked “REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY INC. ILION. NY 270 WIN.”. The left side of the chamber is marked “LZ”. The right side of the chamber has a series of proofs.
Barrel Length: 22”.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a hooded beaded blade dovetailed to a serrated ramp screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is a u-notch fixed to a base on a sliding ramp for elevation adjustment, screwed to the barrel. The top of the receiver has two pairs of drilled, tapped, and filled holes for scope base options.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is one piece Deluxe checkered walnut with capped semi-pistol grip, fluted monte carlo comb with cheek piece, Remington checkered composite buttplate, ebony tipped forend, and two sling studs front and rear. The LOP measures approximately 13 3/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is sharp. The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10. This rifle is unfired.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows no operation wear. This rifle is unfired. The markings are clear. The screwheads are strong and sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Like New condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with its factory box, owner’s manual, and cable lock.
Our Assessment: The Remington 700 needs no introduction, it has been one of the most popular bolt action rifles in America for decades, seeing use in target shooting, hunting, and in law enforcement. Remington had been producing sporting rifles for decades, but their Post-WWI Model 30 Sporter took too much time & money to make and required too much milling. After WWII they designed the Model 721 which used a receiver made of bar stock, meaning it could be turned on a lathe, cutting production time. The basic design of the 721 went through further developments under the direction of engineer Mike Walker, and Remington went on to produce the Model 722 and Model 725, and finally, in 1962, the Model 700 was born. With the design, Walker desired to increase accuracy over previous designs so tight bore & chamber tolerances, a short leader, and fast lock time were used. Since its inception in 1962, it has been produced in just about any caliber and configuration you could think of. This Custom Deluxe 700 is in Like New condition in a Deer Hunting favorite .270 Winchester. Please see our photos and good luck! – L.S.
