Our Assessment: The Remington Model 541-T Heavy Barrel is a highly esteemed bolt-action rifle that has left a lasting impression in the realm of precision shooting. Specifically designed for target shooting and varmint hunting, its heavy-contour barrel is a distinguishing feature, contributing to its renowned accuracy and consistency on the range and in the field. Operating on a bolt-action mechanism, the Model 541-T requires deliberate cycling of the bolt for each shot, ensuring a solid lockup and alignment between the chamber and the barrel. This manual operation, though slower than semi-automatic rifles, provides inherent advantages in accuracy, making it a preferred choice among precision shooters. At 24 inches in length, the heavy barrel enhances the rifle’s stability and reduces barrel whip during firing, factors crucial for achieving tight groupings at extended distances. Complementing its precision-oriented design, the rifle features an ergonomic hardwood stock, offering shooters a comfortable and steady platform for consistent aiming and control. In summary, the 541-T has become a favored choice among target shooters, varmint hunters, and aficionados of precision rimfire rifles alike, cementing its status in the .22 caliber rifle market.
