Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “22-250”” and proof marks. The left side of the receiver is marked “40338B / REMINGTON MODEL 40-X”. The right side of the barrel is marked with proof marks. .

Barrel Length: 27” Bull Barrel – 1/12 Twist rate

Sights / Optics:Mounted to the top of the receiver is a Nikon Monarch Scope. The reticle is a BDC crosshair. The sight picture is clear.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a 1 piece Walnut stock, fluted straight comb, semi pistol grip, 1 sling stud in the belly of the buttstock, and a beavertail forend. Mounted to the bottom of the forend is a collapsible bipod. The LOP is 12.75” from the front of the trigger to the back of the stock. The buttpad has been removed. There are light scratches on the stock. There are no chips or cracks. The stock rates in Very Good Overall condition

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. The rifle is defined. There is no erosion in the bore.There is stubborn copper fouling in the barrel. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition:  This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are scratches on the receiver and barrel. The top of the barrel towards the muzzle is drilled and tapped for a front sight. The screwheads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle.  As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
