Our Assessment: Remington started making the Model 37 rifle in 1937 as a high quality target rifle. There were less than 12,200 made, with production ceasing in 1954. Remington spent some time making these rifles, and equipped them with top of the line sights. This Model 37 has a Redfield Olympic front sight, two scope bases mounted on the barrel, and a micrometer aperture sight mounted on the receiver. This one has a great bore, good mechanics, and most of its original finish. The Model 37 rifles are collector’s pieces, especially those with nice original finishes and in their original condition like this one. Those with nice bores are also prized by shooters for their accuracy so this is a nice find for the shooters and collectors. This would make a very nice addition to a Remington collection or a collection of vintage target rifles. Please see our photos and good luck! – L.S.
