Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked with Remington’s address, “308 WIN 1 IN 10″ TWIST”, along with the “BL” date code. The right side of the barrel is marked with a series of proof marks. The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number and “Remington / MODEL 700”.
Barrel Length: 22″ Stainless, Ported. Remington’s VTR triangular barrel profile. 1:10″ Twist.
Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The top of the receiver is mounted with a Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16×42 scope, with a BDC reticle. The glass in the scope is clear. The scope shows light handling wear. Overall, the scope rates in Very Good condition. The scope is mounted to the receiver by a one-piece picatinny rail, and sits in 1″ rings. There are flip-up scope covers on the scope.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece synthetic stock, with a semi-pistol grip with textured grip panels, fluted straight comb with cheekpiece, black rubber Remington buttpad, a wide forend with textured grip panels, along with dual sling studs on the forend and a sling stud in the belly. The LOP measures 13 1/4″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows light handling wear, with a few surface-level scratches throughout. The texturing on the grip panels is well defined. The stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light wear, with a few light scratches and light freckling of surface corrosion on the barrel, along with some operational marks on the bolt and friction surfaces of the action. Otherwise, the stainless finish is intact. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Remington Model 700 VTR was developed as a precision-oriented sporting and varmint rifle built around the proven Model 700 action. Its distinctive triangular-profile barrel was intended to retain useful rigidity while reducing weight compared with a conventional heavy barrel, and the factory muzzle porting helps moderate muzzle movement. This stainless example is chambered in .308 Winchester with a 1:10″ twist and is fitted with a Vortex Diamondback HP 4–16×42 scope, creating a versatile package for target shooting, and/or varmint hunting.
Manufactured in 2017, this rifle retains approximately 97% of its original matte stainless finish, showing light scratches, minor surface-corrosion freckling on the barrel, and normal operational marks on the bolt and action surfaces. The synthetic stock remains tight and structurally sound with sharply defined grip texturing and no chips or cracks. Its bore is excellent, remaining bright with sharp rifling and no erosion, while the action and safety function correctly. The Vortex scope has clear glass and remains in Very Good condition, with flip-up covers included, and the rifle is accompanied by its original serial number matching box.
