Our Assessment: The Remington 700 Sendero was developed as a purpose built long range hunting rifle, pairing the proven Model 700 action with a 26 inch heavy contour barrel and an H-S Precision composite stock with an aluminum bedding block. Introduced in the 1990s, the Sendero quickly became a favorite among Western big game hunters who demanded stability and velocity at extended distances. Chambered here in .300 Winchester Magnum, a cartridge introduced in 1963 and renowned for its flat trajectory, high velocity, and strong terminal performance on elk and larger game, this configuration represents a classic long range magnum hunting setup from the golden era of Remington production.
This July 1994 example presents in outstanding condition, retaining approximately 99 percent or better of its original matte blued finish with virtually no visible wear. The 26 inch heavy contour barrel shows a bright bore with sharp rifling, rating 10 out of 10, and the bolt still displays vivid jeweling with minimal operational evidence. The factory H-S Precision stock with spiderweb finish remains excellent and keeps the barrel free-floating to the action. The rifle is topped with a Burris Fullfield 6-18x scope in Burris bases and rings, the optic itself presenting in excellent condition. Mechanically sound with a crisp trigger and correct safety function, this is a superb example of a mid-1990s Sendero in .300 Win. Mag., offering both performance and condition in one well preserved package. Please see our photos for a better understanding of condition and good luck with your bids! – J.D.
