Our Assessment: (Trumpet Blast!) Ladies and Gentlemen Shooters of all ages, introducing a hyper rare , ultra custom revolver, the Smolt Smython! What is the custom S&W/Colt hybrid? Combination of Smith & Wesson Revolver and Colt Python Barrel. This type of hybrid was popular in the 1970s for PPC matches. It is built off a S&W Model 19-4 fitted with a 6-inch Python Barrel. It has a jeweled trigger, jeweled hammer and recessed chamfered chambers. The cylinder release is machined so it’s compatible with speed loaders. It is just over 12-inches long.
You never hear about a lot of cool, custom handguns because they don’t often appear in a magazine or on the internet. This is partly because there’s lots of competition for page space in both, and partly because the bigger custom shops have an employee dedicated to securing that coverage. These media relations experts make sure gun writers know about what’s new, and that they always have something to write about.
Typically produced by top notch gunsmiths to be used for PPC and Bullseye competition, these revolvers are one of the most accurate and easy to squeeze revolvers in the world . Rare and Ultra Rare come to mind when you see these guns. If you’re a competition shooter I don’t need to say much more. Condition is everything and everything on this revolver is right. So bid high and bid firm. I highly encourage you to take a look at the condition in our high quality photos. Good luck on your bid. -K.F.
