Many military and C&R eligible weapons have bores that will show erosion. This is not only due to age but to the fact that corrosive primers were commonly used in ammunition worldwide. For example, the U.S. used corrosive ammunition throughout WWII. The U.S. military did not begin to phase out corrosive-primed ammunition until the 1950s.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are faint handling marks throughout the metal surfaces. The bolt and action show minimal operational wear. There is light specks and nicks throughout. The screw heads show light use. The markings are crisp and easily visible. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Persian M98/29 Mauser style rifle was made in the 1930s to serve the Persian military (Later turning into Iran). Using old tooling that was given to them by Checksolovakia. This rifle has very notably different looking front sight protective wings, and a much shorter barrel than the average Mauser. These rifles also have beautiful Persian crests atop the receiver depicting a lion with the sun shining behind it. This particular rifle appears to be in original condition based off of the barrel condition and retains a beautiful fit and finish with its original stock. There is minimal wear to the bore, and the action has only faint wear marks. This rifle would be perfect for any collector looking to get their hands on a beautiful Persian Mauser and its matching bayonet.
