Sights / Optics: The front sight is a black blade, pinned to the vent-rib. The rear sight is a fully adjustable rectangular notch that appears to be slightly bent and is sloping to the right.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The pistol has a Pachmayr made rubberized one piece grip screw set to the frame. The grip shows very minor rub wear and handling marks. There are no tears or rips. Overall the grip is in Very good+ condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: The revolver shows carbon and lead fouling on the face of the cylinder, the muzzle and the inside of the action. The cylinder shows a thin crisp turn line. The stainless shows the usual surface level lines. Overall this pistol is in Very Good+ condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder shows almost no play in lock up and the trigger in single action is very light with no overtravel. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: This Dan Wesson Model 73220 is a particularly uncommon American double-action revolver chambered in .32-20 WCF, a classic cartridge that is relatively unusual to find in a modern Dan Wesson. Featuring a 6-inch barrel, six-shot cylinder, stainless-steel construction, and Pachmayr rubberized grip, the 73220 combines Dan Wesson’s reputation for precision with an uncommon chambering. Very few Model 73220 revolvers were produced, making examples like this considerably scarcer than the more commonly encountered Dan Wesson models and chamberings. The 6-inch configuration also gives the revolver a well-balanced, classic appearance.
Adding significant historical interest, this revolver comes from the collection of John Taffin, the renowned firearms writer and historian whose work extensively covered American revolvers. The combination of the scarce .32-20 WCF chambering, limited production, stainless construction, and documented Taffin provenance makes this a particularly desirable example.
