Markings: The left of the receiver is marked “392208/ Cal..308/b & VALMET/ Tourulan Tehdas Jyvaskyla ”. The base of the scope mount is marked “VALMET”.
Barrel Length: 20.5”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a windage adjustable blade with white line and serrated ramp. The rear sight is an articulating adjustable tangent “u” notch, adjustable for elevation with two white dots and a white line. There is a scope rail with a base mounted, with rings measuring 1” in diameter.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The M88 Hunter features a Walnut stock with supple buttpad, marked “VALMET” on the pad. There is a sling swivel (with surface rust) on the belly of the buttstock. The semi- pistol grip is checkered. The checkering is sharp. The rifle has a ventilated piston guide and checkered walnut lower handguard. The gas block has a sling loop mounted to it. The LOP measures 14” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. There are small chunks and scratches in the butt on the right side. There are no chips or cracks. The stock rates in about very good overall condition. There is handling wear.
Magazine Quantity & Condition: 1@10 round magazine included. The magazine follower has surface rust. Otherwise in very good condition.

Bore Condition: The chrome bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is some verdigris forming. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 96% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows little to no operation wear. There is surface rust forming discoloration on the barrel. There is a one inch scratch on the left side of the receiver. The screw heads range from sharp to tool marked and the pins are unmarred. The markings are crisp. Overall this rifle is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The selector functions. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
