Markings: The receiver is marked, “HÆRENS TØJHUS, 1917. / J.767” The bayonet lug is marked, “0.70” All serialized parts are matching. There are various small proofs throughout.
Barrel Length: 23.6”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a triangular post dovetailed to a raised base. The rear sight is a tangent with a v-notch blade marked out to 20.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The two piece wood stock with a nose cap/bayonet lug, barrel band with a sling loop, side sling loop,straight grip w/ straight comb w/ and a metal buttplate. The buttplate is lightly pitted and rusted and has a red residue stuck to it. There are compression marks, scuffs, chips, and scratches throughout the wood. There are cracks at the buttplate, and behind the receiver. There is a large chip in front of the bottom metal. The LOP measures 13.5” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock rates in about Good overall condition.
Type of Finish: Blued.
Finish Originality: Original.
Bore Condition: The bore is light gray and the rifling is deep. There is faint erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, this bore rates 8/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 10% of its metal finish. There are scuffs, scratches, pitting and rust throughout the metal surfaces. The remaining finish on the receiver has been converted to a light patina. There is heavy thinning throughout. The action has moderate wear. There are impact marks throughout. The screw heads show light use. The markings are legible. Overall this rifle rates in about Very Good condition as a C&R.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
