Our Assessment: This Randall Service Model A-121 was manufactured between 1983 and 1984 and represents one of the early stainless steel 1911 pistols produced by Randall Firearms. Only approximately 1,067 examples of the A-121 were made, making it one of the scarcer variants from Randall’s short but notable production run. The “C” suffix in the serial number indicates that the frame was machined by Caspian Arms, a respected name in precision 1911 frame manufacturing during that period.

Chambered in .45 Auto with a 5 inch barrel, the A-121 follows the traditional Government Model configuration in all stainless construction. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates a fantastic 10 out of 10, indicating exceptional internal condition. The action functions correctly. The installed grips rate in Excellent condition. Two additional grip sets are included: a checkered synthetic wraparound set by Pachmayr and a checkered wooden set. Both extra sets show little to no wear.

This firearm retains approximately 99 percent of its metal finish, presenting in very high condition. Included are the matching box, miscellaneous paperwork, and three 7 round Randall magazines. Overall, this firearm is in Fine Plus condition and stands as a scarce and well-preserved example of an early stainless Randall 1911 with desirable Caspian-machined frame provenance and original accessories.
