Sights/ Optics: This muzzleloader comes with a buckhorn style rear sight with a large blade front sight.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: This Muzzleloader has a single piece wooden stock with a raised comb for right handed shooters and a curved brass buttplate along with a pewter forend cap. Overall, the stock has very minor dents and dings along with no noticeable scratches.The stock has flash burns where the percussion cap nipple is.

Bore Condition: The bore is decent condition with strong rifling, however there is a fair amount of rust buildup.
In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates a 7/10
Overall Condition: The barrel has excellent blueing, however the trigger, screws, nipple, hammer, sights, and lock plate have patina/minor surface rust. The ramrod seems to be undamaged. The hammer mechanism has positive lock up in both half-cock as well as full-cock. Overall this muzzleloader is in good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this musket. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box Paperwork and Accessories: This muzzleloader comes with the original ramrod.
Our Assessment: This .58 CAL Hawkins-style muzzleloader is in good condition. Its stock has only minor blemishes and the barrel bluing is excellent. Although there is minor surface rust and patina, with some cleaning it can easily be restored to a pristine muzzleloader. The positive lockup on the hammer ensures that the firearm is safe to load. The flat trigger, while being set with a heavy leaf-spring, is functional and robust. This great Hawkins-style firearm would be perfect for collectors and black powder enthusiasts alike. -R.E.
