Barrel Length: 5.83”, with a tri lug suppressor mount and the barrel is threaded to 1/2 by 28 TPI with a knurled thread protector.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a hooded post. The rear sight is an adjustable diopter/rotary drum. The top of the receiver has a 2.5” Picatinny rail section welded on top. 

Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture set on this pistol include a polymer pistol grip trigger housing, and a narrow M-LOK aluminum forend with a PTR hand stop. The furniture set shows light handling wear. Overall the furniture is in Very Good condition.

Magazine Quantity & Condition: 1x clear ETS 30rd magazine in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore but there is some light stubborn fouling. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are minimal handling marks throughout. There is light wear to the leading edges. The screw heads are sharp and the pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements. The bolt gap is 16 thousandths. This pistol has a Franklin Armory BSFIII Binary Trigger installed.

Our Assessment: The PTR 9KT is an American-made compact interpretation of the HK MP5K-pattern pistol, retaining the roller-delayed blowback operating system that made the original German design famous while incorporating modern features such as an integrated Picatinny rail and M-LOK-compatible handguard. The 9KT uses a short 5.83″ barrel with both tri-lug and 1/2×28 muzzle interfaces, accepts MP5-pattern magazines, and packages the classic roller-locked architecture into an extremely compact semi-automatic format. This example is further upgraded with a Franklin Armory BFSIII binary trigger while retaining the original trigger pack among its accessories. This pistol remains in Excellent condition, retaining approximately 99% of its original black finish. The exterior shows only minimal handling marks and light leading-edge wear, while the screw heads remain sharp, the pins are unmarred, and the markings are clear. The polymer trigger housing and aluminum M-LOK forend show only light handling wear and remain in Very Good condition. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no visible erosion, though light stubborn fouling remains present, rating 9.5/10 in this writer’s opinion. The measured .016″ bolt gap falls comfortably within PTR’s published .010″-.018″ acceptable range, indicating healthy roller-delayed geometry. Mechanically, the action functions correctly.

For collectors and shooters interested in modern MP5-pattern firearms, the PTR 9KT offers a compact American-made take on the classic K-pattern roller-delayed system with useful contemporary upgrades. The installed Franklin Armory BFSIII trigger, welded top rail, M-LOK handguard, tri-lug and threaded muzzle arrangement, SB Tactical brace, original trigger pack, spare parts, and factory hard case make this a particularly complete package. With its excellent finish, strong bore, proper bolt gap, and full accessory set, this is a very well-equipped example of the PTR 9KT platform. -R.E.
