Our Assessment: The Spanish in the very very early 1900’s adopted a new pistol from Bergmann Mars called the model 1903 – the same pistol the US would test in its selection process for a new handgun before adopting the 1911. The 1903 was a revolutionary pistol with a design that fit perfect for the Spanish military except once they had it, they decided to make a few minor adjustments to perfectly suit their men from the already wonderful design. The new design would be called the 1908 which featured a thicker and more stocky grip, a larger mag release button at the front of the trigger guard, and an easier safety lever. The 1908 would be the base design for the upcoming, 1912, and finally the M1910/21 with a minor few more adjustments. The M1910/21 would see use during WWI as well as the 1912, but the 1912 became more of a civilian retail targeted audience once the Great War began and the 1910/21 took over. This is a genuine WWI classic pistol that will make any collection far more rich in history and authenticity. Bring this to the range and experience what fun these historical pistols brought to a Pre World War World.
