Type of Finish: Blue
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is a little stubborn fouling. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 90% of its metal finish. The finish is thinning at most edges. Most of the balance is scattered minor oxidation on the slide. There are some other spots of minor oxidation. There are a few minor nicks, scuffs and small scratches. The action shows standard operational wear. The screw head is lightly tool marked. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with one 7-round magazine with a pinky extension.
Our Assessment: This is a pre-war PPK manufactured in 1935 with the highly rare and sought after RZM marking on the left side of the slide. The Reichs Zeugmeisterei served as the quartermaster’s office of the National Socialists and later became the chief approving authority on many types of military weapons, clothing, textiles and some raw materials. These pistols were commonly thought to be issued to the German political leaders of the time. It is in Very Good condition with roughly 90% original finish remaining. The bore is mostly bright with sharp rifling and no erosion. This example would be a nice addition to a Walther collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
