Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are a few scattered light marks, most notable on the floorplate. The action shows minor operational wear. The screw heads range from sharp to lightly tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine-plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: None.
Our Assessment: The Forester L579, was in production from 1958 to 1992 and this is a nice example from 1967. Sako Forester rifles are of quite high quality, known for their fit, finish, and accuracy. This Pre-Garcia Forester is a beautiful hunting rifle that can be passed down from generation to generation, chambered for the versatile .308 Winchester cartridge that has been taking game in America for more than 70 years. This example is in Fine condition with a strong bore and signs of limited use. As great a hunting rifle as this may be, it is also likely to interest the Sako collectors.
