Our Assessment: Dubbed the “Evil Assault Pistol” by the US government, the Interdynamic KG-99 finds its historical origins in the heart of Sweden. The famous George Kellgren, responsible for KelTec, Interdynamic, and Intratec designed the iconic look and configuration of the full auto open bolt MP9. To increase sales the full auto function was removed and then sold to the public in the United States. Thus Interdynamic of America Inc was born along with the KG-9. Unfortunately, the open bolt system was far too easy to convert back to a full auto pistol and the KG-9 became notorious as a common weapon used in crime. To fix the issue, Interdynamic created a closed bolt semi auto version called the KG-99 in 1982. A few years later the government deemed this gun design still far too “violent” with the threaded barrel, removable LCP, pistol grip, and barrel shroud and the ban on the KG-99 and all predecessors was enacted, halting all production. Interdynamic would become Intratec in order to start producing new variants like the Tec-9 to skirt around the bans until new bans were placed until finally Intratec subsided. Claim this wonderful piece of history, possess an aggressive and violent pistol, show off a solid example of an icon of late 80’s TV and movies, and even a few more recent video games. This KG-99 could be your new favorite range toy. This molded polymer pistol is a mixture of stamped and milled steel parts and the simple design makes it easy to repair and modify and the iconic look makes this a go to show piece in your collection.
