This rifle exemplifies the golden era of Winchester craftsmanship, with a level of finish and attention to detail that has become increasingly rare in the decades since. Its year of manufacture predates the significant changes to production that occurred in 1964, which introduced cost-saving measures at the expense of some of the hand-finished aspects that made the Pre-64s so desirable.
