The checkering shows minor wear, but is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14 3/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The pad has light wear, mostly in the heel. Drop at the comb (in front of the sliding portion) is approximately 1 5/8″, drop at the front of the sliding portion of the comb is 1 3/8″, drop at heel 1 7/8″. Overall, the stocks are in Fine-Excellent condition.

Type of Finish:
Blue & Case Color

Finish Originality: Original. The serial numbers match on the barrels, forend iron and receiver.

Bore Condition:
The bores are mostly bright. There is no erosion, but there is some stubborn fouling. In this writer’s opinion, the bores rate 9 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 94% of its metal finish. The finish is thinning at some edges. There is handling wear at the bottom edges of the receiver, more notable on the right. There is finish wear on the chamber shoulders and on the receiver beneath on each side. The action shows light operational wear and there is handling wear on the controls. There are a few scattered minor marks. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in Fine condition.

Mechanics:
The action functions correctly. The barrels lock up with no play. The safety does not engage automatically, but functions properly when engaged manually. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories:
Included is a Briley hard case with the sub-gauge tubes and additional chokes as described above, choke wrenches, Briley and Perazzi paperwork and a pump for the pneumatic recoil system.

Our Assessment:
Perazzi sounds like a high end sports car, and in the gun world it is. They have long been a staple of just about any kind of shotgun sport you can name, famous for their craftsmanship, beauty, and durability. As such, they command a high price, with some buyers going all the way to Italy to be measured in person so that their gun can be specially and exactly fit to them. That said, like a high-end sports car, it can be much more economical to buy used. This one is their MX5 model with a 29.5? barrel. With its beautiful construction and legendary Perazzi quality, this is a gun that will turn some heads and dust some clays. Please see our photos and good luck!

Please forgive any typos, I was educated in California. -Bud
