Type of Finish: Blue and Bright

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bores are mostly bright. There is some stubborn fouling but no erosion in either bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bores rate a 9 or 10 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows only some sparsely scattered nicks, scuffs and handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in Fine Plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The barrel lockup is tight with no play to the receiver. We did not fire this firearm. We have cleaned this firearm and performed a mechanic’s check but expect many will want to clean the firearm again depending on their standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes with a Perazzi hard-sided case, an instruction manual with factory handouts, comb spacers, the choke tubes described above and some maintenance tools.

Our Assessment: Perazzi sounds like a high end sports car, and in the gun world it is. They have long been a staple of just about any kind of shotgun sport you can name, famous for their craftsmanship, beauty, and durability. As such, they command a high price, with some buyers going all the way to Italy to be measured in person so that their gun can be specially and exactly fit to them. That said, like a high-end sports car, it can be much more economical to buy used. This one is their MX-12 model with 31 1/2? barrels. With its beautiful construction and legendary Perazzi quality, this is a gun that will turn some heads and dust some clays. Please see our photos and good luck in your bidding!
