Sights / Optics: The sights are a Pedersoli Soule Type sight set. The front sight is a globe-style sight with post insert and spirit level dovetailed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a square-notch elevator sight dovetailed to the rear of the barrel. The top tang is drilled and tapped with a Soule-type folding tang sight installed, adjustable for windage and elevation with an 8-position aperture.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece walnut with pewter-capped forend, checkered pistol grip, straight comb and smooth steel buttplate. The stocks have some light nicks and scratches, mostly in the buttstock toward the rear. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures approximately 14 3/8″ and 13 1/2″ from the fronts of the triggers to the back of the buttplate. The plate has minor wear with a few spots of faint oxidation. Overall, the stocks are in Very Good-plus condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. The action shows faint operational wear. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The screw heads range from sharp to tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

This example is a very nice replica of the Remington Rolling Block made by Pedersoli in the year 2015. It is inspired by the rifle used by John Bodine in the first Creedmoor competition where he fired the last bullseye, giving the American team a one point lead over the Irish. The Pedersoli replica has a couple of nice improvements such as double set-triggers, a little more weight, and chambered for the more common .45-70 Government cartridge. This rifle is in Fine-Excellent condition, it has been well taken care of and shows little use.
