Sights/ Optics: The front sight is tapered blade integral to the front barrel band. There is no provision for a rear sight. 

Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip:  The stock is one piece smooth walnut, three barrel bands, straight grip, straight comb, and smooth steel buttplate. The LOP is 12 3/4″ from trigger to buttplate. There is light handling wear. There are a few light scattered compression dents. There is one more notable dent on the right side of the stock. There are no chips or cracks. Overall this stock is in Excellent condition. 

Type of Finish: Armory Bright

Finish Originality:  Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and shiny. There is no erosion. It does not appear that this musket has been fired. In this writer’s opinion this bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This musket retains 97% of its original finish. There is light corrosion staining scattered on the barrel. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall this musket is in Excellent condition. 

Mechanics: This musket is in functional condition. The hammer holds full and half cock. The flint sparks. The touch hole is clear. We did not fire this musket. As with all used guns a full cleaning may be necessary to meet your standards.

Our Assessment: This Pedersoli 1777 Corrigé An IX in .69 caliber is a high-quality modern reproduction of a classic French flintlock military musket. Manufactured in 2005, it features a 44 11/16″ smoothbore barrel, flintlock ignition, armory bright finish, three barrel bands, walnut stock, smooth steel buttplate, and a tapered front sight integral to the front barrel band with no rear sight provision, consistent with military musket configuration. The included sling adds to the presentation and gives the musket a more complete martial appearance.

Condition is excellent overall. The musket retains approximately 97% of its original finish, with only light corrosion staining scattered on the barrel. The markings are clear, the screw heads are sharp, and the bore is a standout feature, described as bright and shiny with no erosion and no indication of firing, rating 10/10 in the writer’s opinion. The walnut stock is also in Excellent condition, showing only light handling wear, a few light compression dents, and one more notable dent on the right side, but no chips or cracks.

Overall, this Pedersoli 1777 Corrigé An IX presents as a very well-preserved and attractive reproduction flintlock musket with excellent bore condition and strong mechanical indicators. The hammer holds at full and half cock, the flint sparks, and the touch hole is clear, all supporting its functional status. While it has not been test-fired and should be cleaned and inspected to the buyer’s standards before use, it appears to be a fine candidate for black powder collection, historical reenactment, display, or careful range use where permitted.
