Our Assessment: George Washington’s favorite pistol was made in London in 1748 by Hawkins, one of the best known gunmakers of the period. The original still survives today as one of our national treasures, on display in the West Point Museum. Elegant in design, Washington’s pistol combines simple, clean lines with tasteful silver decoration. These non-firing replicas have all of the features of the original. Nine hundred and seventy-five sets of replicas were made in 1976 and this pair is the fourth set, numbered 4A and 4B respectively. These pistols come with a felt-lined display case. Don’t pass up this chance to take home a little piece of history! Please see our photos and good luck!
