Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “WINCHESTER MODEL 94 .38-55 / MADE IN NEW HAVEN CONN U.S.A. / WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL” The left side of the receiver is engraved and depicts the Winchester factory and cowboys drinking coffee. The right side of the barrel is marked “OLIVER F WINCHESTER” The right side of the receiver is engraved and depicts native americans on horseback with tipis and a cowboy holding a rifle. The bottom of the receiver is marked “OFW11701” the right side of the buttstock has a medallion that depicts Oliver Winchester with his signature under it.
Barrel Length: 24” Octagonal barrel
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade dovetailed into the top of the barrel. The rear sight is a buckhorn U notch sight leaf elevator sight.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a 2 piece Walnut, Straight comb buttstock with steel buttplate, checkered straight grip, checkered forend, the LOP is 13.25” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are some very light scratches on the buttstock. There are no chips or cracks. The stock rates in Excellent Overall Condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. There is no erosion in the bores. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99.99% of its metal finish. The medallion in the buttstock has tarnished slightly and is not as bright as the receiver. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: Winchester made several commemorative rifles from the 1960s to the 1980s. Each Commemorative batch had different runs ranging from thousands to only a few hundred from one edition to the next.
The Oliver Winchester Commemorative model 94 is one of the more ornate Commemorative rifles, with a high gloss finish on the stock, octagonal barrel, and intricate engraving, this Winchester is a striking rifle. These rifles are hard to come by and highly collectible. This Rifle does not appear to have ever been shot and is in Excellent condition. Good luck on your bid. -M.C.
