The butt stock has a straight grip and an initial plate on the belly which has been engraved with the NSFL bugle logo. The case-colored skeleton buttplate also has D-grade engraving with checkering in the exposed walnut of the butt. The stocks have a few scattered minor nicks and scratches, most not breaking the finish. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. The drop at comb is 1 3/8”, drop at heel is 2 1/4”. The LOP measures 14 5/8” and 13 3/4″ from the fronts of the triggers to the back of the skeletonized metal butt plate. The plate has some very minor wear at the heel, the butt checkering is well defined. The stocks rate in Fine-plus overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion. In this writer’s opinion, the bores rate 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 95% of its metal finish. The barrels have a few scattered minor marks and the 26″ barrel set has faint wear from the forend, concealed when assembled. The receiver has some muting in the case color toward the bottom-front and some edge-thinning. The action shows minor operational wear. The screw heads range from sharp to very lightly tool marked with strong slots. The markings are crisp. Overall, this shotgun rates in Fine-plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly including ejectors, an exceptionally tight action lockup and presents spectacular balance. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a tan leather bound hard trunk case with canvas and leather cover, keys for the case, two-piece cleaning rod, two snap-caps, and an assortment of cleaning accessories.
Our Assessment: In 1984, Winchester was contracted by Reagent Chemical & Research, Inc. to manufacture a new Parker shotgun. The new SxS was a DHE model, available in 20 and 28 ga. initially. These models were fabricated in Japan to original Parker specifications, and the reproduction was so authentic that most parts are interchangeable with the late Parkers made by Remington in Ilion, NY. On Sept. 17, 1999, a flood destroyed all remaining inventory, including parts and most of the factory records. In addition to the standard production models, there were a limited number of guns made for the National Sporting Fraternity Limited.
This example is an NSFL 28 gauge DHE Reproduction which was made with two barrel sets, one 26″ and one 28″, choked Skeet2/Skeet1 and Full/Modified, respectively. It is, in fact, the first such made. The set is in Fine-plus condition and appears to have seen infrequent and responsible use. Also included is a leather bound Parker trunk case. The to-specification D grade engraving looks exceptional with the vibrant case coloring retaining marvelous tone variation in most areas. The shotgun has dual triggers and independent ejectors. It is light and trim with a splinter forend and straight grip. The fit and finish of this shotgun is truly something to behold. Whether you’re a Winchester or Parker collector or just want one of the finest 28 gauge doubles made, this is a great addition to any safe in America. Please see our pictures and good luck!
