Our Assessment: This Norwegian Krag-Jorgensen Model 1912/16 was made at the Kongsberg Arsenal back in 1916. It is marked with the Kongsberg Arsenal “crowned K” on the top of the receiver. The rifle has other good markings that include matching numbers on the receiver, stock (below the receiver’s serial number), left side of the trigger guard (at the wood line), bolt assembly (3 places), barrel band, underside of the rear sight (twice), interior of the magazine, and on the buttplate. There is no visible import mark.
This Model 1912/16 is over 100 years old and is in Very Good condition. Model 1912 Krags are chambered in 6.5x55mm which is a flat shooting Military cartridge. The N@zi’s destroyed many of the Norwegian Krags during their WWII occupation of Norway so there aren’t that many of these Norwegian Krags around.
…Now go shoot something!
