Our Assessment: The Norinco MAK-90 Sporter is a well-built, Chinese-manufactured AK-style rifle that was imported into the U.S. during the early 1990s before further restrictions were placed on imported semi-automatic rifles. Known for its forged receivers, smooth action, and durable construction, the MAK-90 is highly regarded among AK enthusiasts for its quality and reliability.
This example, manufactured in 1993, has been refinished with Cerakote blue and fitted with red Tapco laminated wood furniture. While the import mark has worn away, the matching serial numbers on the trunnion, dust cover, and bolt carrier confirm its originality. The bore is in outstanding condition, rating 9.5/10, making this rifle a great choice for both collectors and shooters.
For those seeking a durable and functional semi-automatic AK variant, this MAK-90 is an excellent choice. With its refinished modern look, original furniture included, and smooth action, this rifle is ready for the range or as an addition to any collection. So bid high and bid firm.
