Markings: The right side of the buttstock is marked “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA STG 556 S/A MASR”. The front right side of the frame is marked “S/N 600-P006789 MSAR UNITED STATES OF AMERICA STG-556/ CAL .223 BRADFORD, PA”. The ejection port has a cover marked “LIFT ENDS AND SLIDE TO REMOVE” twice. Bottom of the foregrip is marked “MSAR”. The barrel is marked “5.56 NATO 1/8 MSAR”. The optic is marked “1.5X CQB OPTIC MSAR P/N 219”.
Barrel Length: 16”. 18” with the Tulip muzzle device.
Sights / Optics: The rifle is equipped with a 1.5X optic with a circle post reticle, back up iron sights on the top of the tube and exposed turret adjustments. The optic is in New in Box condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is polymer with a rubber buttpad. The LOP measures 15” from the front of the trigger to the back of the fixed buttstock. There are four QD slings cups installed on the receiver. Two on the bottom of the stock one in the pistol grip[ and the other at the bottom of the butt portion of the stock. The third is built into the rear takedown pin and the fourth built into the front of the scope rail. There are also two QD sling swivels, one installed on the rear takedown pin and one in the QD cup mounted to the scope rail. The stock is in New in Box condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore.This rifle appears unfired outside of factory testing. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Magazine/Condition: This rifle includes one 10 round MSAR magazine.
Overall Condition: New In Box.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. MSAR underwent a recall for magazine release issues, and this unit’s magazine release is original and still functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle includes the serialized box, magazine, cable lock with keys, owner’s manual and paperwork.
Our Assessment: The MSAR STG 556, a civilian variant inspired by the Steyr AUG, is an example of an iconic bullpup design. Featuring a compact and maneuverable structure, the bullpup configuration positions the action and magazine behind the trigger, allowing for a standard-length barrel within a shorter overall length. Chambered in the widely-used 5.56x45mm NATO caliber, the STG 556 offers versatility for various shooting applications. Equipped with a 16-inch barrel and operating on a gas piston system, the STG 556 prioritizes reliability and cleaner operation. Originally designed for use in cold weather it is equipped with oversized controls, including the pistol grip, trigger, charging handle, cross bolt safety selector, and magazine release. Another interesting feature is the quick change barrel system allowing for very easy cleaning. This rifle also incorporates classic AUG features such as the 1.5x CQB optic, transparent polymer magazines with available 30-round capacity, and a space aged ergonomic design for improved handling and let’s be honest, looking cool at the shooting range!
