Markings: The left side of the frame is marked “MOSSBERG® / MADE IN U.S.A. / NORTH HAVEN, CT. / -12 GAUGE-”, “SHOOT FROM RIGHT SHOULDER ONLY / STORE GUN AND AMMUNITION SEPARATELY / PATENT PENDING” and the serial number “J942947”. The left side of the heat shield is marked “12 GA. – CHAMBERED FOR 2 3/4” and 3”- U.S.A.”. The right side of the heat shield has a standard safety disclaimer.
Barrel Length: 18.5”
Choke: The Cylinder bore is fixed.
Sights/ Optics: The sights are set in the handle on top of the barrel. The front sight is a black square at the front of the handle. The rear sight is a screw-set adjustable square-notch fixed to the rear end of the handle.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The stocks are two-piece black synthetic featuring a textured forend with a grip. There is a checkered pistol grip which is integral to the butt-stock, flat comb and butt-pad. The stocks have some handling marks, scratches, scuffs and handling marks. The checkering remains sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP is 15” from the trigger to the rear end of the buttpad. The buttpad has some light handling marks. Overall, the stocks are in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and there is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: The shotgun retains about 90% of its metal finish. There are some minor scratches and nicks in addition to light handling marks on the metal parts of the shotgun. The markings remain clear. The screwheads are serviceable. Overall, the shotgun is in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box Paperwork and Accessories: The shotgun comes with its factory box (it is not serial matched but features the computer number “00-500B-0176 which is likely the SKU), user manual, some paperwork and tools. The box has some handling wear but remains in Very Good condition.
Our Assessment: This Mossberg 500 Bullpup is a 12 gauge pump-action shotgun chambered for 3” shells. The shotgun is one of the more ambitious designs by Mossberg. It has unique aesthetics and remains mechanically sound. It is a must have for Mossberg collectors, and should prove a lot of fun to its next owner. Good luck on your bid!
