Markings: The right of the frame is marked “CASPIAN ARMS LTD. WOLCOTT. VT. USA / 69130”. The chamber is marked “INFINITY ULTIMATCH / 10MM”. The bottom of the dust cover has a Moore Gunworks logo.
Barrel Length: 4 1/4″, Bull
Sights/Optics: The front sight is a Trijicon blade with a tritium lamp dovetailed to the front of the slide. The lamp has dimmed some with age (2018 date marking). The rear sight is a Warren “U”-notch dovetailed and screw-set to the rear of the slide.
Stock Configuration and Condition: The grips are two-piece red and black checkered double-diamond G10 panels. The grips have no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.
Type of Finish: Black
Finish Originality: Original to custom-build.
Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is some stubborn fouling. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are a few spots of edge thinning and some scattered tiny marks. The action shows light operational wear. The screw heads have strong sockets. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Fine-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this pistol. As with all used firearms, thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: This pistol comes with a total of three 9-round 10mm magazines, two stainless and one blued (blued is in factory packaging).
Our Assessment: This is a custom Commander-size 1911 built by Moore Gunworks on a Caspian frame, and it is a beauty! Made with Cylinder & Slide internals, an Ed Brown grip safety, STI Recoil Master guide-rod, Stan Chen magwell, Wilson Combat ambidextrous safety, Infinity Ultimatch flush, crowned barrel, and chambered for 10mm, it’s a feature-rich pistol chambered for a potent cartridge. Moore Gunworks’ well-deserved reputation is on full display with a number of subtle details from the flat on the top of the slide, thin relief-cuts along the tops of the flats, and a recess around the link pin on the right of the frame. This high quality custom 1911 will be a great addition to any safe in America and would be an outstanding defensive pistol for the lucky winner. Please see our photos and good luck!
