Markings: The top of the receiver has an American Eagle over “1993”. The left side of the frame is marked “6483”. The right side of the frame is import marked “SPM INC. HOUSTON, TX U.S.A.”. The right side of the slide is marked “MITCHELL ARMS AMERICAN EAGLE / CAL., 9MM LUGER”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is an oblique ramped blade with a serrated face that is dovetailed onto a rise in the barrel. The rear sight is a “V” notch on the rear toggle.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are fully checkered American walnut panels. There is little to no wear. There are a few light scratches. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is sharp. The grips rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. There is fouling in the grooves. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows little to no wear. There are a few light scratches throughout. There is light operation wear. The screw heads are sharp. The pins are unmarred. The markings are sharp. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Mitchell Arms American Eagle Luger is a modern reproduction of one of the most iconic military pistols ever designed. Produced in the United States during the 1990s, these stainless steel Lugers combined the unmistakable appearance and toggle-lock action of the original P-08 with modern manufacturing techniques and materials. Chambered in 9mm Parabellum, the American Eagle Luger offered shooters and collectors the opportunity to own and enjoy a newly manufactured Luger-pattern pistol without the concerns often associated with firing original military examples.

This 1993-produced example presents in Excellent overall condition and displays the distinctive styling that has made the Luger famous for more than a century. The walnut grip panels remain in excellent condition with sharp checkering and virtually no notable wear. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, no visible erosion, and only light fouling present, earning an excellent 9/10 rating. The pistol retains approximately 99% of its factory-original stainless finish with only minor operational wear and a few light handling marks visible. Complete with its original-style 7-round magazine, this American Eagle Luger represents an outstanding example of a highly collectible modern reproduction of one of the world’s most recognizable handguns.
