Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked, “MOD. 77 MAUSER-WERKE OBERNDORF GmbH”. The barrel is marked, “.30-06 / MOD. 77 MAUSER-WERKE OBERNDORF GmbH * MOD. 77”. There are various German proofs throughout.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a square blade dovetailed to a serrated ramp. The rear sight is a dovetailed square notch set into a raised base. There are scope mounts on either side of the receiver with a Hakko SuperB 2.5X-10X42 FFP scope. The glass is clear. The scope is in Excellent condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a single piece checkered walnut with a rosewood capped schnabel forend, rosewood capped semi-pistol grip, fluted raised comb w/ cheek piece, and rubber recoil pad. There are pressure dents and nicks throughout. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is sharp. There are two sling loops on the bottom. The LOP measures 13” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock rates in about Very Good overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original to rebuild
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is some stubborn lead fouling. In this writer’s opinion, this bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is light thinning and handling marks throughout. There are small nicks on the bottom metal. The screw heads show light use. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements. There is a set trigger button atop the wrist. The safety locks the bolt. The trigger is light, the action is very smooth. The set trigger is extremely light.
