Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “The Marlin Firearms Corporation New Haven Conn. USA/ PAT’D MAR. 24 1908. 2 Patents” surrounded by opposing arrows at each end. The left side of the barrel near the chamber is marked “22S.L.&LR.” also with opposing arrows. The top tang near thebuttstock is marked “Marlin No.47” and the Lower tang is marked with our serial number “3065”
Barrel Length: 22 inches
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a cylinder-topped blade dovetailed to the barrel . The rear sight is a “U” shaped notch sight dovetailed near the rear of the barrel.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are a two piece walnut. The forend shows evidence of checkering that was once prominent. The buttstock shows checkering near the hand hold section of the english style straight stock. The LOP measures 13 &? inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the steel buttplate. The stocks rates in about Good to very good overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is semi bright and the rifling is strong. There are tiny specks of erosion in the bore. There are minimal pits of corrosion. This rifle deserves a professional cleaning.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 60% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows wear Throughout the gun. The case coloring has been all but removed from the receiver. Wear is strong on all action points and the checkering on the stock and foregrip have been smoothed by use over the years. The butt plate has lost its original color. The screw heads are worn but show strong slots. The pins are worn and show access has been made for service throughout the last century. The markings are sharp and clearly legible. Overall, this rifle rates in about Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions excellently. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Once again the Marlin Number 47 was made in 1930-31 and only given to investors who would buy at least 4 shares of Marlin stock for $100. It was a unique pump rifle that was not included in the official catalog. Instead, it was offered exclusively to individuals who purchased at least four shares of Marlin stock.
