Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed into a hooded ramp screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is a spring leaf U notch with elevator dovetailed into the barrel. The left side of the receiver is drilled and tapped for a peep sight. The top of the receiver is drilled and tapped for a scope base.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is two piece checkered walnut, banded forend, capped semi pistol grip, fluted straight comb, with checkered Marlin buttplate. The LOP is 13 1/2″ from trigger to buttplate. There is minor box wear. There are no chips or cracks. Overall this stock is in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. The rifling is sharp. This rifle looks to not have been fired past the factory. In this writer’s opinion this bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its original finish. There is minor storage wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall this rifle is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: This Marlin Model 336C Carbine is a clean 1982-production lever-action rifle chambered in the classic .30-30 Winchester cartridge. The 20″ barrel, tubular magazine, checkered walnut stocks, banded forend, capped semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, and checkered Marlin buttplate give it the familiar 336C sporting profile. The rifle retains its factory-style hooded beaded front sight and elevator-adjustable U-notch rear sight, while the receiver is drilled and tapped for both scope mounting and a receiver peep sight, offering excellent versatility for field or range use.
Condition is Excellent overall, with the rifle retaining about 99% of its original blued finish. Only minor storage wear is noted, while the screw heads remain sharp and the markings are clear. The checkered walnut stock set is also in Excellent condition, showing only minor box wear with no chips or cracks. The included factory box and manual add significantly to the rifle’s completeness and collector appeal, especially given the high overall condition.
The bore is outstanding, remaining bright with sharp rifling and appearing not to have been fired beyond factory testing, rating 10/10 in this writer’s opinion. Mechanically, the action functions correctly, though the rifle has not been test fired by us. As with any used firearm, a thorough cleaning and inspection are advisable before use. Overall, this is a highly attractive Marlin 336C in .30-30 Winchester with excellent bore condition, near-complete original finish, strong wood, and desirable box and manual, making it appealing as both a collector-grade example and a classic sporting lever rifle.
