Aug. 1. 1893.” The top of the barrel where it meets the receiver it says “30 30” The top of the receiver says “Marlin Safety” the tang is marked “Model 1893” The bottom of the receiver is marked “D853”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a knife blade sight, The rear sight is Semi Buckhorn, elevator sight.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is 2 pice smooth wood buttstock and foregrip, there are scratches and impressions on the buttstock and foregrip. The LOP measures 13’ from the front of the trigger to the Center of the Buttplate. The stock rates in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is Bright and the rifling is Sharp. There is No visible erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 80% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows wear. There are scratches in the finish, the wood furniture has scratches and impressions on the buttstock and foregrip. The screw heads are sharp. The pins are unmarried. The markings are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions Correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Marlin Model 1893 was a turning point for Marlin Firearms Lever Action Rifles. Implementing a side ejector instead of a top injector ( a permanent change moving forward for the company) and introducing their “Special Smokeless Steel” Barrel, the Marlin Model 1893 set a new standard for lever action rifles. This pioneer of the lever action industry set trends and standard still seen in today’s firearms This Marlin Model 1893 has lived a very easy life, and aside from some minor scratches, it is in very fine condition.
