Markings: The left shoulder of the barrel is marked “THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO., NORTH HAVEN, CT., U.S.A. / MOD. 1894 – MICRO-GROOVE BARREL CAL.44 REM. MAG” and at the rear with a “JM” proof on the right side. The upper tang is marked with the serial number.
Barrel Length: 20.25”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass beaded hooded blade dovetailed to a serrated ramped base screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is a semi-buckhorn elevator sight with a U-notch that is dovetailed to the barrel. The top of the receiver is drilled, tapped, and filled in four places for mounting a scope (not included). The left side of the receiver is drilled, tapped, and filled as well for rear target sight options (not included).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece smooth walnut with a straight grip, straight comb, checkered black hard rubber Marlin buttplate, nose cap, sling stud in the belly, and a sling stud mounted to the magtube. The wood has slightly shrunk from age and fits a little shy to the receiver and forend band. There are no chips or cracks. There are a few minor scattered handling marks. The LOP measures 13.5” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate shows some marks on the heel and toe but the checkering is sharp. Overall, the stocks rate in about FIne condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling sharp. There is no notable erosion. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The action shows light operational wear. The screw heads range from lightly tool marked to sharp but all retain serviceable slots. There are a few small scratches on the barrel exterior and on the receiver. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly and smoothly. The hammer has a half cock safety position. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
