Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / PATENTED OCT. 11. 1887. APRIL 2. 1889. AUG. 1. 1893.” in front of the rear sight and “25-20 M” at the receiver. The underside of the receiver is marked “346413”. The upper tang is marked “Marlin / MODEL ‘94”.
Barrel Length: 24” Octagonal
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed to the barrel with serrated face. (Not Original). The rear sight dovetail has been filled. The top tang is drilled, tapped and filled for a tang sight (not included). The top of the receiver is drilled, tapped, and filled.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two piece smooth walnut. The buttstock has a straight grip, straight comb, and a steel buttplate while the forend has a steel nose cap. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 3/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition as refinished,

Bore Condition: The bore is dark with scattered light erosion. The rifling is well defined. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 6/10 for C&R.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its refinish. There are some minor scratches on the barrel exterior but overall there is little to no wear post being refinished. The screw heads are sharp with serviceable slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition for C&R refinished.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The hammer has a half-cock safety. The trigger is light and crisp. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
