Action Type: This rifle has a lever action with a full-length magazine tube.
Markings: The upper tang is marked “MODEL / 1892”. The bottom of the receiver is marked “158501”. The top of the barrel is marked “MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN CT., U.S.A. / PAT’D JAN. 18. 1887. APRIL 2.1889.AUG. 12.1890.MAR.1.1892”. The top of the receiver is marked “MARLIN SAFETY”.Barrel Length: 24″ round
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade dovetailed into the barrel. The rear sight is a U-notch leaf dovetailed to the barrel.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece smooth walnut with capped forend, straight grip, straight comb and smooth steel buttplate. There are compression marks, scratches, and scuffs throughout. There are no cracks however there is a small thin chip in the bottom of the buttstock. The LOP measures 13.25″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. Overall, the stocks are in about Very Good condition as an antique.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In the opinion of the writer the bore is about 9/10 for an antique.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 70% of its metal finish. The finish is thinning at all edges. The finish on the receiver, mag tube, foregrip cap, and lever is well worn and shows patina . There are scratches throughout. The screw heads range from sharp to tool marked with serviceable slots. The markings are clear to worn. Overall, this rifle is in Good Plus condition for an Antique
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The lever has very little play in the receiver. The rifles action is smooth and the trigger pull is crisp. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
