Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. HUNTSVILLE, AL U.S.A. / MODEL 60SS MICRO-GROOVE BARREL CAL. 22 L.R. ONLY”. The left side of the receiver is marked with a QR code and the serial number.
Barrel Length: 18 1/2″
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a black blade, integral to a serrated ramped base, screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is a flip-up semi-buckhorn U-notch sight on a riser, dovetailed to the barrel. The top of the receiver is grooved for optics.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered walnut stock, with a semi-pistol grip, monte carlo comb, brown rubber Marlin buttpad, a checkered forend, and sling studs front and rear. The LOP measures 13 3/4″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows no notable wear. There is a Marlin 150th anniversary medallion inlaid into the right side of the buttstock. The checkering is well defined. The stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows minor handling wear, with only minor superficial imperfections throughout the metal surfaces. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the cross-bolt safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with its original serial number matching box, and owner’s manual/paperwork.
Our Assessment: The Marlin Model 60 is one of the most recognizable and enduring semi automatic rimfire rifles ever produced, with production dating back to 1960 and millions sold to American shooters. The 60SS 150th Anniversary edition commemorates Marlin’s long history, featuring stainless construction and a special inlaid medallion in the stock. Chambered in .22 Long Rifle, the cartridge introduced in 1887 and still the standard for economical training and small game use, the Model 60 pairs mild recoil with practical accuracy, aided by Marlin’s well known Micro-Groove rifling system.
This 2020 example remains in excellent condition, retaining approximately 99 percent of its original stainless finish with only minor superficial handling marks. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and rates 10 out of 10. The checkered walnut stock with Monte Carlo comb and 150th Anniversary medallion shows no notable wear and fits tightly to the action. The tubular magazine, factory sights, and cross-bolt safety are intact and functional. Accompanied by its original matching box and paperwork, this commemorative Model 60SS represents a clean, modern example of a classic American rimfire design.
