Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “1895 LTD / THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. / ILION NEW YORK U.S.A. / MODEL 1895 CAL. .45/70 GOVT / LIMITED EDITION 1 OF 1500.” The right side of the receiver has an engraved scroll pattern with a gold inlaid elk, while the left side features extensive engraving with a gold inlaid mounted rider and additional floral designs. The serial number “MR22266F” is marked on the left side of the receiver.
Barrel Length: 24″ Octagon
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a semi-buckhorn leaf with a ramp dovetailed to the barrel.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a deluxe checkered walnut with a pistol grip, raised comb and a high-gloss finish. The checkering is sharp. The forend has matching checkering. The buttstock has a brown rubber recoil pad. The LOP measures approximately 13.5″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the recoil pad. There are no cracks or chips, with only minor handling marks visible. The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore. Rifle appears unfired out of the factory. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows only the lightest handling marks. The screw heads are sharp, and the pins are clean. The markings are crisp and well-defined. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
