Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked “MAKARMS DALLAS GA SN 27951 7.62.25”.  The side of the buttstock is marked “S-35-289-1”.  The barrel is marked “35-283-9” with several proofs including a BK and A.  The left side of the receiver at the rear is marked with a proof mark and at the mid section is marked “35-290-3”.  The buttplate is marked “35-290-1”.  The left side of the magwell is marked with some russian proofs.  The trigger guard and both sides of the pistol grip are marked with Lot numbers as well.

Barrel Length: 10”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a hooded post.  The rear sight is a L-Type Flip Notch Sight with one marked “10” and the other “20”.  The charging handle is marked with Cyrillic.

Stock Configuration & Condition:  The Buttstock Stock is an under folding stock that has been tack welded at the left lug to prevent it from folding.  The pistol grip is synthetic serrated.  There is a bayonet lug under a barrel band at the midlength of the barrel.  Configured to accept modified PPS-43 magazines.  There is some light to moderate handling wear as well as scratches on the grips panels as well as scuffs.  There are no chips or cracks.

Magazine Quantity and Condition:  2x 35rd detachable box magazines in Very Good condition.  The springs are strong and the leading edges are sharp.  They have light to mild operation wear and some minor corrosion present in varying degrees.

Finish Originality: Original Factory Refinished

Bore Condition:  The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp.  There is no erosion visible in the bore.

Overall Condition:  The finish on this pistol has some light scratches on the receiver and metal parts. Overall this MP40 Clone rates in Very Good Condition.  (Please see photos for a better understanding of the condition.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a total of two magazines, and a green canvas sling. The sling is in Excellent condition with no rips or tears. The stitching is tight and unfrayed.

Our Assessment:  MAK ARMS, originally known as MK Gun Mods before moving to Florida, was founded by Mark Karvasale in 2008 with a primary goal of building semi-automatic versions of military firearms for collectors and reenactors.  The company though not a mainstream production company due to its conversion projects business model has been creating some unique and collectable pieces for well over a decade in limited quantities which makes these firearms all the more unique and desirable.  A few conversions the company has produced include British Lanchester MK I carbine & Stens MK II, MK III, and MK V, Austrian Steyr MP-34 carbine, Swedish Gustaf M/45 carbine, US Auto-Ordnance M1928A1 Thompson rifle, -German MP.40 pistol, Italian Beretta MAB 38A carbine & 38/42 pistol, Yugoslavian Zastava M49/57 carbine & M56 pistol, Polish Radom PPS43/52 carbine, French MAT-49 pistol, and the Argentine FMK-3 rifle.  This is a clone of the MP40 using a mixture of unique parts from the MP40 as well as the PPS-43 as well as others.  Though it’s not a perfect clone of an MP40, it does sport a similar aesthetic and the 7.62×25mm Tokarev chambering with 35rd magazines will make this a fun platform to shoot.  Please see photos and good luck!
